About the Villa
Accommodation
Saarjärve Holiday House accommodates up to 28 guests in total.
The main house includes 8 rooms:
- Ground floor (4 rooms): Renovated in spring 2025, each with a private bathroom (shower + toilet).
Every room has 2 single beds (can be combined into a double) and an additional sofa bed (150 cm wide).
Each room sleeps up to 3 guests (friends or colleagues) or up to 4 guests (families). - Second floor (4 rooms): Each has 4 single beds, two of which can be joined into a double.
Rooms can host up to 4 guests each — altogether 16 guests.
Bathrooms and showers are located in the corridor (2 shared units).
Please note: Second-floor rooms are accessed via the outdoor terrace.
Facilities
On the ground floor, there is a large fully equipped kitchen and dining area with a wood-burning fireplace and lake view.
On the second floor, there is a spacious lounge — perfect for cozy movie nights or gatherings.
The lounge includes a built-in sound system, large screen, and projector.
There is also a small bar area with a self-service fridge offering a selection of drinks.
Music & Entertainment
Please leave your own sound equipment at home — the house has a built-in sound system that you can connect to your phone or laptop via Spotify.
We kindly ask not to bring speakers or sound equipment to the sauna area, as sound carries far across the lake.
Saunas & Hot Tub
A perfect winter getaway in the forest wouldn’t be complete without a relaxing sauna experience.
Next to the main house you’ll find our wood-heated oval sauna and glass sauna, with a direct walkway to the lake.
A heated wooden hot tub is located beside the saunas — ideal for enjoying the crisp winter air under the stars.

Saarjärve Holiday House is surrounded by fairytale-like South Estonian forests.
Even if there’s no snow yet, the evergreen pines and twinkling lights around the property create a truly magical Christmas atmosphere.
Popular nearby ski resorts — Otepää Kuutsemägi and Kütioru Ski Resort (Võru County) — are both about 40 minutes away.
For cross-country skiing, you’ll find excellent maintained tracks in Mammaste Sports Centre (15 min drive) or Haanja Sports Centre (40 min drive).
Nearby Restaurants
During Christmas and New Year, many restaurants in South Estonia may be closed — please check opening times before visiting.
Our favourite nearby spots are:
- Tillu Café, Põlva (10 min drive)
- LaStoria Italian Restaurant, Põlva (10 min drive)
- Verska Resto, Värska Harbour (25 min drive)
- Ilmaveere Restaurant, Obinitsa (30 min drive)
- Suure Muna Café, Haanja (near Kütioru & Haanja ski centres, 40 min drive)
Holiday House Rental Price
Christmas & New Year Period
(Guests may bring their own food and drinks.)
(Please note: no catering service is available on national holidays.)
- 1 night for up to 28 guests: €1681 + VAT 13% (€1900 total)
- 2 nights for up to 28 guests: €2478 + VAT 13% (€2800 total)
A €200 security deposit is required and will be refunded within 3 days after check-out.
For Christmas and New Year, we prefer the minimum rental period for 2 nights.
Included in the Price
- Accommodation in a private main house (up to 28 guests)
- 8 rooms (each sleeping 3–4 people)
- Use of the dining area and fully equipped kitchen:
- Stove, oven, 247L refrigerator, dishwasher, Jura coffee machine (bring coffee beans), toaster, KitchenAid mixer, blender, and citrus juicer.
- All dishes, glasses, and serving utensils are provided.
- Please do not bring disposable dishes — we provide reusable plastic glasses for sauna use.
- Kitchen also includes drinking water, dishwasher tablets, baking paper, foil, and paper towels.
- A Kamado grill is available on the terrace (please bring charcoal; wood is not allowed).
- Use of the 2nd floor lounge with movie and sound equipment (HDMI & USB-C connections).
- Use of the bar area with cocktail tools and a self-service fridge (pay after use).
- Access to the oval sauna, glass sauna, and heated hot tub.
